Ben's Picks -
It’s baseball season, which I hate, because that means college basketball is ending. Now once the NBA playoffs end, I enter the sports black hole of only MLB until September. It’s brutal, with the only highlights being a Duke recruit’s commitment, NBA Draft, NBA trades and free agency, and actually going to a few MLB games. I know though that many of you love baseball and I definitely know that Kenny does. So even though it ain’t my cup o’ tea I will show up Kenny by making better picks for division winners, wild card, Cy Young Award winners, MVP winners and the World Series pick in Ken’s sport.
NL –
NL East- Philadelphia Phillies
NL West- Colorado Rockies
NL Central- Cincinnati Reds
Wild Card- San Francisco
Cy Young- Tim Lincecum, SF
MVP- Joey Votto, CIN
AL East- Boston Red Sox
AL West- Oakland A’s
AL Central- Minnesota Twins
CY Young- Trevor Cahill, OAK
MVP- Robinson Cano, NYY
World Series - Phillies in 6 over Oakland
Kenny's Picks -
As Ben noted above, it is baseball season. However, unlike him, I love it. With baseball comes summer, with summer comes BBQ and as we all know, with BBQ, comes beer. I know Ben said he would kill me in the picks, but this is coming from the guy who lost to his cat in the bracket challenge. But hey, who knows, the whole dang thing is a crap shoot anyway. I’m just hoping I don’t get snake eyes.
NL –
NL East- Atlanta Braves
NL West- Colorado Rockies
NL Central- Milwuakee Brewers
Wild Card- San Francisco Giants
Cy Young- Josh Johnson, FLA
MVP- Dan Uggla, ATL
AL East- Boston Red Sox
AL West- Oakland A’s
AL Central- Minnesota Twins
CY Young- Felix Hernandez, SEA
MVP- Adrian Gonzalez, BOS
World Series- Twins over the Rockies in 7 games.
I know, I know, I’m a homer. But hey, I don’t have the Yankees making the playoffs, so that should be one hurdle the Twins avoid. Also, I just think it would be fun to see the Rockies and the Twins in the World Series. I like the style both teams play and hey, if the Giants and Texas can get there, why not these 2 teams. So, if you are in Vegas anytime soon, pick the Twins to win it all. They don’t have bad odds (8-1), so there is a good chance we might be partying in MN like it’s 1991!
Let us know your pick's for this year either by comment or email. (write something good and well thought out, we'll post it!)
More Ben less Ken.
ReplyDeleteWhoops, didn't mean to delete my comment. Anyway, what I said was, thanks Sidney for posting. Even though it was not in my favor ha. So, do you think Ben has the best picks this year? What do picks do you have? Feel free to email us and we can post it. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWINNING!

ReplyDeleteI'm going with Messi over the MLB
ReplyDeletethis summer. MESSI!!!!!
Or a 35 series milwaukee falls to the
Twins in six.
Messi huh? Not really sure what that is. What is it? I like that you are picking the Twins. I know they got off to a rough start this weekend, but I'm not all that worried. Thanks for the comment.
ReplyDeleteKen,
ReplyDeleteI'm disappointed you have the Twins to win it all. I understand loving the home team but let's be realistic here. The chances of the the Twins not only making it to the World Series but also winning is about the same as the Yankees taking the #3 out of retirement and giving it to me, their new short stop.
