Dallas Mavericks advance to the 2011 NBA Finals

Well, they made it. The Mavericks are the first team to punch their ticket to the 2011 NBA Finals. As the saying goes, “Everything is bigger in Texas” and that couldn’t be more accurate. The Mavericks have been the biggest, strongest and most efficient team in the playoffs. They took out a feisty Portland team in the first round in 4-2 fashion. Than, they made the reigning back to back champs, the Lakers, look old and embarrassed in the second round, with a 4-0 sweep. Last, but not least, they dominated the up and coming Thunder and took the series 4-1.

So, was our money on the Mavericks before the playoffs started? No. Is it now? It almost has to be. We don’t know who they play yet, but that could be determined tonight if the Heat can close out the Bulls. But, either way, it’s hard to bet against Dirk and the Mavs. Sure, the Bulls have Rose and the Heat have Lebron and company, but, do they have the experience and/or the bench to compete with the Mavericks? And, can anyone stop Dirk right now? Only time will tell.

If you aren’t watching the NBA Playoffs this year, you should be. But, we know it’s hard to sit down and watch a full game. That is why you should add Sports Tears in Our Beers to your favorites, because we have you covered.
