Maya Moore’s WNBA Debut – Exhibition Style

The Twin Cities is a basketball crazy area. They just need a team to cheer for. Sure, you have the Timberwolves, but they are coming off a 17 win season. We think they will turn it around this year, but that’s still up in the air. We have the Tubby Smith led Gopher Men’s Basketball team, but, like the Timberwolves, are coming off one of their worst years under Tubby. So, it’s no wonder the state of MN is just begging for a team to show some life and energy…and produce some wins. Enter, Maya Moore. Can she be the savior for MN basketball? The fan’s sure hope so.

Maya made her WNBA debut last night in an Exhibition game against the Indiana Fever. The game was held on the campus of Concordia University in St. Paul, MN in front of a nice sized crowd. The game was not televised, but you can find the box score here. When you look at the box score, you might not be all that impressed with what you see by Maya Moore’s name, but don’t worry even she knows this won’t be a common thing, “I don’t plan on only scoring 4 points. So, I’ll be working on that”. The game today wasn’t about numbers, it was about fans getting a chance to see Maya, and they weren’t upset, “It’s just great to see a young women who has a chance to be a superstar in MN. She will be a lot better than what we saw tonight.” Like that fan, STOB has no worries when it comes to Maya Moore. The first lady of the Jordan Brand, will bring fans into the Target Center, will bring the Lynx some wins and hopefully, the franchises first WNBA Championship.

The guys of STOB are big basketball fans, so we will be following Maya Moore and the Lynx all season. If you are a Lynx fan, or are thinking of joining the bandwagon, we suggest you follow STOB for all your Lynx info.
