Minnesota Timberwolves Trade Rumors

So, as all NBA basketball fans know, this is “Primetime” for trade rumors. As all Timberwolves fans know, we are usually involved in those rumors one way or another. If David Kahn can hang is hat on something, it’s that no trade proposed, goes un-heard.

As you read on here May 4th, we talked about a trade we would like to see. It involved the Indiana Pacers, Minnesota Timberwolves and such players as Michael Beasley and Danny Granger. About a week later, the trade winds picked up and it was rumored that the two teams where in discussions. Nothing has happened with that trade as of yet, but keep your eyes open, you never know what could happen.

The newest trade rumor is involving 3 teams. Those teams are the Timberwolves, Cavaliers and the Pistons. In this rumored deal, teams would be getting the following:

Cleveland: Timberwolves second pick and the contract of Detroit’s Rip Hamilton.

Minnesota: Cavaliers 4th pick and the Detroit Piston’s 8th pick.

Detroit: Would get nothing back, just have Rips reaming $21.5 million come off their books.

If DK can pull this trade off, we would almost have to give him a standing ovation right? They get rid of the 2nd pick, which by most accounts, would be Derrick Williams. He is a player the Timberwolves don’t need. They than get the 4th and 8th pick to go along with their 20th pick. Do you smell a first round pick in next years draft? We do, and the Timberwolves need it seeing as they don’t have one. If the Timberwolves some how end up with the 4th, 8th and 20th pick, my guess is they package the 8th and 20th for a veteran and a first round pick next year. Last thing this team needs is 3 rookies.

As of now, Detroit is saying the rumors or bogus, and maybe they are. But most of the time, where there is smoke there is fire. So, keep your finger in the air and see what way the wind is blowing. You might just pick up on some trade winds of your own.
