2011 NBA Mock Drafts 2.0 - Ken's New Mock

With the news of Ricky Rubio signing with the Timberwolves, it has prompted us to re-do our Mock Drafts. First up is Ken. Let’s see what he comes up with. He likes to take risk, so this is the perfect draft for him. No one really stands out, so there are a lot of unknowns. Perfect for Ken. Check back often to see Ben and Derricks updated Mocks.

I will only break down the reason the Timberwolves picks were made.

Ken’s Mock 2.0

1. Cleveland – Kyrie Irving

2. Minnesota – Bismack Biyombo – The kid is climbing and is just what we need. A young, athletic center that can play some D. Yes, Williams is on the board, but we don’t need him with Love and Beasley in the mix. I know Kanter is there as well, but I don’t think he is a true center. After watching him, he seems like he would be unhappy playing center. He is quick, can shoot and it just seems to me that he will fit better as a 4 in the NBA. Plus, has anyone been raving about his D? No. So that is why you take Biyombo. Some on ESPN are saying he is FIRST pick worthy. Now, either that means this draft really stinks, or he kid is/will be special. compares him to Kendrick Perkins. Could be just what the Timberwolves need. It doesn’t really matter anyway. This pick won’t be made by the Timberwolves, they will trade it.

3. Utah Jazz – Brandon Knight

4. Cleveland – Derrick Williams

5. Toronto – Enes Kanter

6. Washington – Jonas Valaciunas

7. Sacramento – Kemba Walker

8. Detroit – Tristan Thompson

9. Charlotte – Jan Vesely

10. Milwaukee – Kawhi Leonard

11. Golden State – Alec Burks

12. Utah Jazz – Klay Thompson

13. Phoenix – Darius Morris

14. Houston – Marcus Morris

15. Indiana – Jimmer Fredette

16. Philadelphia – Markieff Morris

17. New York – Chris Singleton

18. Washington – Dontas Motiejunas

19. Charlotte – Tyler Honeycutt

20. Minnesota – Josh Selby – The Timberwolves take Selby here to replace the likes of either Flynn or Ridnour. My guess is it would be Flynn, just because of the fact that we need some sort of veteran PG on the team and Luke fits that. Selby will be a nice back up to Rubio in the future. I know he didn’t “wow” in college, but he did get a late start and could be ready to turn it on just in time for the NBA. Harrison Barnes started out slow as well if you remember, but wouldn’t be look good in T-pups blue?

21. PortlandDavis Bertans

22. Denver – JuJuan Johnson

23. Houston – Marshon Brooks

24. Oklahoma City – Jordan Hamilton

25. Boston – Kenneth Faried

26. Dallas – Kyle Singler

27. New Jersey – Tobias Harris

28. Chicago – Nolan Smith

29. San Antonio – Jon Lauer

30. Chicago – Jordan Williams
