Gophers vs. Cornhuskers

Rex Burkhead is key to the Huskers success

After a come from behind win against Ohio State last weekend, the Huskers are running on all cylinders. The Gophers will look to contain their new conference foe at the Bank this Saturday. If the Gophers have played like they have all season, this game will be over after the first quarter.

Minnesota Golden Gophers vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers

Cornhusker Players to watch:

Taylor Martinez (Quarterback) - Without question the catalyst of the Cornhusker offense, Martinez will command respect both on the ground, and through the air. So far this season, Martinez is averaging 97 rushing yards a game, and 169 yards passing a game.

Rex Burkhead (Running Back) - Just when the Gophers think they have contained Taylor Martinez and the Nebraska running attack, out of the backfield rumbles Rex Burkhead. #22 was instrumental in the Cornhuskers 4th quarter comeback against Ohio State last weekend. Burkhead is averaging 106 rushing yards a game this season and is tough to bring down in the open field.

Gophers Players to watch:

Kim Roysten (Defensive back) – In order for the Gopher to keep the game in reach, the defense will need to step up BIG TIME against Nebraska’s high powered offense. The leader of the Gopher defense is senior Kim Roysten. A bright note in an otherwise terrible season, Roysten has 51 tackles on the season, 12 more than any of his other teammates.

Derrick’s Prediction:
Gophers – 10
Cornhuskers - 63

Ben’s Prediction:
Gophers - 21
Cornhuskers- 47

Ken’s Prediction:
Gophers - 21
Cornhuskers- 42

STOB will be at the game giving you a quarterly recap and a full game review from The Bank. Make sure to follow us all day Saturday @
