So long Bernard Berrian

Bernard Berrian - What if??

He came to Minnesota anticipated to be the speedy wide out the Vikings were looking for, however Berrian ended up being yet another Vikings bust.

In 2007, Berrian helped lead the Chicago Bears all the way to the super bowl. The Bears, who in years prior relied heavily on the ground game, gained another facet to their offense with Berrian's deep threat ability. After his stellar play in the 2007 season and playoffs, Berrian, a free agent to be, was sure to be a sought after commodity for the 2008 season.

BTwice was signed by the Minnesota Vikings before the beginning of the 2008 season. Berrian started off his career with a very solid first year. He ended the season with; 48 catches, for 964 yards, and 7 touchdowns. I can remember like it was yesterday his 99 (yard) reception from Gus Frerotte against his old Bears team. The lights were bright on Monday night, and Berrian appeared to thrive under the spotlight. His next season, 2009, with Favre appeared to be another success; Berrian hauled in 55 receptions, for 618 yards, and 4 touchdowns. From there it has only gone downhill in a hurry. In 2010, Berrian only had 28 catches and his season, he has a grand total of 7. Besides his awful game performance, he has been in the news lately for disciplinary reasons (the wrong reasons.) They began to stack up to the point that Coach Frazier had to release him to cut down on team distraction.

His short career with the Vikings consisted of underachievement, Twitter spats, missed practices, dropped balls, and a few big plays. Where will Berrian end up next???? No one knows.... What I do know is that Berrian could be the biggest waste of talent I have seen in a long time.
