I’m sure you have heard the phrase “I’m drinking my dinner”.
Usually this is associated with heavy boozers but not anymore.
With the craft beer craze booming all over the country,
everyone seems to be willing to “drink their dinner”.
The question is, is beer a meal?
Hefeweizen’s, Hazy IPA’s, Chocolate Milk Stouts, Sours,
Imperial Lagers, Barrel aged this and that & so on. These are all great
examples of delicious styles of beer that are at our finer tips these days.
Each of these beers is packed with calories, carbs, grain,
wheat…all of these items can be found in every day meals.
Working at a brewery I catch myself going to work feeling
hungry but after a beer, the hunger goes away. This, although my ultimate dad
bod (even though I’m not a dad) doesn’t show it, has caused me to skip a few
meals because I am full.
This is what got me thinking – “Is beer a meal?”
My conclusion would be yes.
Now I wouldn’t do this all the time, but if you are getting
some nutritional value, I say use it as a meal replacement (don’t really do this,
that can’t healthy) and let that beer gut grow!
Cheers.
